short match report: The Berlin team played very dominant and offensive during the first 10 minutes. Everything looked like for a victory of the Berlin team. After the goal of Sandy Smith the match was well balanced with chances on both sides. 1 minute before time Jan Alston safed the tie for the Berlin Capitals after Bob Sweenys goal 10 minutes from time raised the hopes for a victory of the Revier Loewen.

The Kassel defense players were too slow to catch up with the Berlin forwards, so the Capitals were completely dominant the first period and were heading 3:0 already after 8 minutes. The Capitals were able to keep the pace and extend the lead in the second period to 5:0. In the last period Kassel were alble to fight back and score two goals.

short match report: The new forwards Stefan Ustorf and Heinz Ehlers scored their first goal for the Capitals. Compared to the Hannover match the Berlin team was fighting very well and well-deserved the victory. The Krefeld goalie Lang denied the Capitals more goals. Capitals goalie Klausi Merk performed even better and had a "shut out".
After the weak game in Hannover this match will hopefully give the team some self-confidence.

short match report: The Berlin gambled away the victory. The capitals held the victory in their hands until 27 seconds from the time. The Augsburg team had taken out their goalie for a sixth player. The Canadian player Faust equalized the score 27 seconds from the time. In extra time Augsburg used a fast break for their victory by a goal of Tero Arkiomaa. After the first 20 minutes without goals Augsburg got a 2:0 lead during the second interval, but the Berlin team fought back to finish this intervall with a 4:2 lead. The first attack row with Bellows, Ustorf and Alston showed very good performance and scored three out of these four goals. In the last interval Tom O'Regan had the chance to score the 5:3 10 minutes from the time as he was alone in front of the Augsburg goalie, but his shot went over the crossbar. Klaus Merk showed a very good performance.

Two goals in a powerplay situation underline the strong performance of the Berlin team. A mistake of Heinz Ehlers used the Dusseldorf team for a goal to bring them back into the match after the Capitals scored just the second goal. short match report: The Capitals team could not use their goalie Klaus Merk due to injury. David Berge replaced Klaus Merk in this match, but after he got the forth goal, goalie Klaus Merk got a pain injection so that he could substitute golaie David Berge. The first 30 minutes the guest from Mannheim played very dominant and showed the Berlin team that they play much better hockey. The Berlin team had only a few chances to score. In the last intervall the Berlin team was more equal but was unable to score any goal. On this Friday match Berlin was struck by heavy ice rain, so that the radio and TV station gave the advice to the Berlin citizens to stay home. Therefore only 2000 fans visited the match against champion Mannheim.

short match report: A very weak match. The Berlin team played without Bryan Bellows, who is playing for the Canadian team in the Sprengler Cup. Less than 2000 visitors found their way to the hockey stadium that is negativ record for the DEL.

The Capitals got 10th in the table and have to play the qualification round to qualify for the remaining two places for the Play-offs. Krefeld, Schwenningen, Hannover and vice-champion Kassel Huskies are the main teams, who have to be defeated to get one of the two places. The points from the pre-round are taken into account for the qualification round. The teams getting 1st and 2nd are qualified for the Play-offs, the remaining teams playing the Play-Downs for relegation games to the 1st division.
