Shinty in Munich

Shinty is Scotland's national sport. The game has sometimes been described as 'hockey without rules' but the lack of restrictions in shinty results in a hard, fast and skil ful game with a big enjoyment factor.
In the Middle Ages Shinty games were already played in the Highlands. In Ireland a similar sport "Hurling" was played. Later the hockey sport was derived from shinty and hurling by introduction of additional rules.
If you want to brush up your shinty skills, bring you stick ! We cannot provide sticks. We practise in the Meadows of the Ostpark sometimes at weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
